"Wonder Woman 84"
Diana (Gal Gadot) is living in Washington DC and working at the Smithsonian. New employee Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig) is studying a strange artefact, and comes into contact with handsome, charismatic and effortlessly charming businessman Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal, the star of the show), and Diana realises that it may be a long-lost magic wishing stone, especially when she inadvertently wishes for the return of her lost love Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) , and now Maxwell Lord is in possession of it. But every wish comes with a price...
I like this.
It's overly long, and there is a Yikes-Central portrayal of the Middle East about halfway through (a little more galling when one remembers that Gal Gadot served in the IDF) and is generally not as strong as "Wonder Woman"; but its finale is far stronger, the villain is EXCELLENT, it keeps up a Richard Donner tone which is not unwelcome (he WISHES he had come up with a magic wishing stone) and it once again is good at wearing its themes on its sleeves: deception and illusion; from Maxwell Lord being introduced as a smiling successful businessman but revealing an empty and unbuilt office, to the once again excellent use of costuming.
The villain is excellent.
It's fun.
